Would you like to take the lead of our Japanese business? We are an innovative software company with headquarters in Sweden, and are growing rapidly within the clinical research industry. We require a Managing Director for our office in Japan, reporting directly to the CEO in Sweden and responsible for all Japanese operations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Leading daily operations in Japan, coordinating and balancing the teams at the Tokyo office
  • Overall accountability for sales, delivery, and strategies for business targets
  • Setting and maintaining the cultural tone/standard for the team in Japan: communicating company values and expected behaviors
  • Identifying and building relationships internally and externally to drive business opportunities, and manage ‘top to top’ relationships with key clients and other related business partners
  • Identifying and addressing problems and opportunities central to business success, and solving critical issues at highest levels
  • Acting as a representative for the company at industry affiliations, functions, events, etc.
  • Engaging and managing business partners (re-sellers, consultants, sub-contractors and CRO’s)
  • Office and Staff Management
  • Ensure compliance with legal/regulatory requirements, and facilitate audits
  • P/L responsibility


  • First-class leadership and high emotional intelligence, management over 5+ employees
  • Native Japanese
  • Fluent English
  • Broad knowledge of clinical trials industry, 10+ years
  • Knowledge of software industry business and/or vendor management
  • Advanced strategy development skills
  • Excellent delegation skills
  • Extensive network within the clinical trials industry
  • Relevant university degree, or equivalent business experience in clinical trials industry
  • Experience of engaging and managing partners
  • Can give good impact and influence
  • Has integrity and resilience


  • Create a strong, efficient, passionate, and collaborative organization
  • Finalize the product transition from our old platform (Viedoc 3) to our new platform (Viedoc 4)
  • Continue our growth in terms of revenue and number of conducted studies
  • Secure scalability and redundancy through partners (both for sales and delivery)
  • Transition the business towards strategic partnership support
